    having never been much of a fan of sandler’s, i’ve generally avoided his work, though i know his PDL film received considerable accolades from those that would typically be his worst critics. so perhaps that wouldn’t be so bad to have in my library as well.

To allay any Sandler anxieties, I will relate my theatrical experience of “Punch Drunk�. The theater had about a dozen of so patrons. About half-way through, a group of the Sandler fans (obviously having a first encounter with PT Anderson) got up from their seats and proceeded to shout to the rest of the theater, “Everyone! This sucks! Let’s get the fuck out of here! C’mon! What are you all waiting for!? Let’s go!�

They went. And I was all the happier for it. “Punch Drunk� made my top 5 for that year.

Since we’ve mentioned straining films Have you perhaps seen Aronofsky’s “Requiem for a Dream?”

I’ll see your crackers, with a pint of Samuel Smith’s finest!
