“Middle-of-the-road” music and worship style… yes. But that is different from the experience. You can have a great experience regardless of the style of music.

That is what people seem to want, having been on both sides of the spectrum. We’re a Mennonite Brethren church that started on the extreme traditional side, and the pendulum swung WAY over to the fairly contemporary side (contemporary meaning Delerious, etc.). We evened out at middle-of-the-road, which seems to be where 80% of the congregation is comfortable. And judging by the style of worship cd’s being released, I presume most of the Nashville community ended up at the same place.
