Martin Dressler, etc.

read 1997 Pulitzer ‘Martin Dressler’ over the weekend. story about a wonder-boy hotelier in turn of the 20th century NYC. best described as an ‘adult fairy tale.’ i give it my highest marks. something profound in here. elements of it felt wildly allegorical and yet very understatedly white-collar. nutty.
also, Blue Like Jazz, a new ‘Christian’ non-fiction/essays book is very nice. reading for the 2nd time in a month.
