when the wetness slides off i’ll be better you’ll see. when the sweat dries and my sleeping has found me again, escaped out of brambles and mosquitoes and sticky sheets wrapped around and around and around i’ll push up and out and sit with you again.
pretty skies and clouds squat heavy on my chest and songs of before become longtailed boats drifting,
just drifting
in the wetness. with no hope of return we’ll all just float until we die.
just float and float and float.
until we die.
