I guess I just felt that Mokhiber’s question wasn’t an honest one. He knew the real answer to his question before he asked it, so his question was not so much a question as it was a pointed commentary about the human cost of war and the administration’s perceived indifference toward it. And I’m not sure whether a press conference is the right place for that. But maybe I’m wrong.
On the subject of rudeness, I will admit that my comment was made mostly in jest. That said, I did find it irritating the way Mokhiber kept interrupting poor Scottie and hammering away at him with a question that he clearly wasn’t going to get a straight answer to. But I guess that’s a reporter’s job, huh?
Reminds me a bit of a courtroom scene, only without a judge around to say “answer the question” or “stop badgering the witness”. Hey, maybe the Supreme Court justices have some time to spare…
