Declining & Rising Rates

I guess when i read the article, it more or less confirmed some of my thoughts on the nature of “pro-life”. If one is to be “pro-life” per se, let them then be “pro-life” as it pertains not only to the unborn, but unto the living as well. I mean really, does it make much sense to ensure the unborn a place in our world, only to deprive them of a decent, maintanable, standard of life once birthed? This seems inconsistant.

I follow Christ. I do my best I think. One thing I have learned on the journey is that we as followers have hope, and even larger than hope, we believe in redemption. Because we believe in redemption, I believe we are to lead redemptive lives. This is then why I choose to compost table scraps in my backyard, and support conservation groups like the Sierra Club. This is why my wife and I are considering adoption. This is why we serve the poor in our local community.

I really don’t think either candidate this election has the “pro-life” thing nailed down adequately. But I think Kerry has a better sense of justice. And as it is beginning to appear with Clinton, with a greater sense of justice comes better standard of life. Here’s to hoping the abotion rate declines once again.

trying to live redemptively,
