hey bob (and anyone else out there…get in, dangitt!!)
it’s a deceptively simple one i think and an articulation of
something approaching the kind of freedom a believer in the
outrageous goodness of g*d gets to try and live out. five
years later, i still haven’t heard much of anything (in the CCM
genre anyway) that comes anywhere close to the standard a
song like this sets. a celebration, an invitation, and a
challenge (directed to the songwriter herself among others) to
live out the other-centred, justice-loving freedom christ
exemplified. it’s a profoundly playful worship song, you might
say. what an album period. may her tribe increase.
