The Quest to mp3-ize Longing Unknown (READ)

Hello all! What’s it been…six months since I last posted?
Anyway…
For about 2 years, I’ve wanted to get an mp3 of Longing Unknown. I know the song is archived on the site, but unfortunately that’s a live recording which, while good, isn’t as good as the CD version.
Now, for those of you that don’t know, Longing Unknown is the song in the NEGATIVE TRACKSPACE before track 1 on Dreamlife of Angels. And it’s one of the simplest, best songs by Sarah Masen…ever. Period. Trust me.
Well, two years ago is when I stuck the CD in my computer to get the track, and I couldn’t.
I’d tried various methods: recording direct CD audio and rewinding…but no program will rewind before track 1’s 00:00…making a CD-R of the CD in hopes that it would come out as a separate track…other stuff I don’t remember doing.
But then I thought “hey…if a CD Player can play it, why don’t I just run the audio from the CD Player into my computer! THAT shouldn’t be too hard!”
Unless you’re Pat Gann and you don’t know how to work audio at all.
But I dedicated SIX HOURS to it today, and TADAH, I have it.
So, I don’t know if you guys wanted it on the site, or whatever…but I dedicated my whole academic day to this project, so maybe I’d get appreciated or whatever. Whatever…if you guys want it. Yeah, let me know.
